summary=When a museum celebrating the Ku Klux Klan opens in a small South Carolina town, the idealistic Reverend Kennedy resolves to do everything in his power to prevent racial tensions from boiling over. But the members of Kennedy's congregation are shocked to discover that his plan includes sheltering Mike Burden, a Klansman whose relationships with both a single-mother and a high-school friend force him to re-examine his long-held beliefs. After Kennedy helps Mike leave behind his violent past, the Baptist preacher finds himself on a collision course with manipulative KKK leader Tom Griffin. In the face of grave threats to himself and his family, the resolute Kennedy bravely pursues a path toward peace, setting aside his own misgivings in the hopes of healing his wounded community

This movie left off an important is Junior. Be careful that you don't find yourself leagaly in trouble. We really dont #Slumerican. DontSleepOnBurden. My circle hella small. Burden🔥, Rittz, Crackalack always gonna be in my circle🎵 🙌💯. I just finished watching this film at the Traverse City Film Festival, I absolutely cannot rave enough about this film! the cinematography, the acting, the dialogue, everything is absolutely spot on! It is so intense that you, as the viewer, can feel the struggle that Mike Burden is going through and it just captures you and sucks you right in. especially if you know anything about the backstory on it and what really happened. To be honest this film emotionally drained me, I am literally exhausted from watching it. I would even have to go as far as to giving it 6 out of 5 stars, this is one of those do not miss movies.
For 10 years I wondered whose song this is, and what the title is. I found it finally simply because I remembered one line in it. there's no one to take my blame. Thanks so much for uploading. If angels come down to earth to sing, sure they would make a cover of this song. Found a new girl, I think we can make it as long as she stays on the page. Still can't believe I saw them live. Such an amazing song of an incredible band.
I saw Burden at Sundance, and was captured with how poignant this film is. The tale is an incredible story- and has really effected me on many levels. Even though the story is 20 years old- the lesson is very timeless. This is a remarkable story of a man's redemption and those who made it possible through courage and love. There are elements, including the name of the central character and an ironic twist that would seem like artifacts of a writer's mind, but they were not- real people, the events that happened to them, and how they chose to respond to those events, provided a story that called out to be told. Writer/director Andrew Heckler does an amazing job telling the story and the cast is terrific.

Received: 21 October 2019 / Revised: 22 November 2019 / Accepted: 26 November 2019 / Published: 1 December 2019 COREX is one of the commercialized smelting reduction ironmaking processes. It mainly includes two reactors, i. e., a (reduction) shaft furnace (SF) and a melter gasifier (MG). In comparison with the conventional blast furnace (BF), the COREX MG is not only equipped with a more complicated top charging system consisting of one gimbal distributor for coal and eight flap distributors for direct reduction iron (DRI), but also the growth mechanism of its burden pile is in a developing phase, rather than that in a fully-developed phase in a BF. Since the distribution of charged burden plays a crucial role in determining the gas flow and thus in achieving a stable operation, it is of considerable importance to investigate the burden distribution influenced by the charging system of COREX MG. In the present work, a mathematical model is developed for predicting the burden distribution in terms of burden layer structure and radial ore/coal ratio within the COREX MG. Based on the burden pile width measured in the previous physical experiments at different ring radii on a horizontal flat surface, a new growth mechanism of burden pile is proposed. The validity of the model is demonstrated by comparing the simulated burden layer structure with the corresponding results obtained by physical experiments. Furthermore, the usefulness of the mathematical model is illustrated by performing a set of simulation cases under various charging matrixes. It is hoped that the model can be used as a what-if tool in practice for the COREX operator to gain a better understanding of burden distribution in the COREX MG. Men caregivers face caregiving burden, have weak support networks and are less likely to seek out programs which increase their caregiving capabilities and help them cope with this burden. Using the 2011 and 2015 National Study of Caregiving (NSOC) database and hierarchical regressions, we studied the emotional, financial, and physical burden of male caregivers as spouses, sons, and other caregivers by assessing the impact of caregiver characteristics, tasks and resources for each subgroup. We highlighted the importance of using a nationally representative database for men caregivers only and emphasized that these caregivers are not a monolithic group. We found that all caregivers experienced these three burden types, particularly elevated emotional stress, with sons reporting the highest emotional and financial strain levels. Assisting with personal care was the most stressful task and caregivers vastly under-utilized support and training. Our results suggest that burden suppressants included having family and friends help with caregiving, having time to decompress, and feeling appreciated by the care recipient. These findings offer insight for devising future policies that intentionally include relationship and burden type to encourage improved and more caregiving from men while supporting their well-being. Movies | ‘Burden’ Review: A White Supremacist’s Change of Heart Garrett Hedlund stars as a beleaguered Klan member in this heavy-handed yet worthwhile true-life redemption drama. Credit... Mark Hill/101 Studios Burden Directed by Andrew Heckler Drama R 1h 57m Never underestimate the power of love — and the mind-blowing kindness of a by-the-book preacher — to lead a man to salvation. At least, that’s the message of “Burden, ” the third recent movie ( after last year’s “Best of Enemies” and “Skin” a few months later) to feature a Klan member being coaxed into the light. This time, the movie’s flawed hero is the real-life Mike Burden (Garrett Hedlund), an uneducated repo man in small-town South Carolina. The year is 1996, and Mike and his brothers-in-hate have repurposed a crumbling movie theater as the Redneck Shop and K. K. Museum, complete with Confederate flag. Outside, the Reverend David Kennedy (an affecting Forest Whitaker) and his flock are staging peaceful protests against the opening of this abomination. They don’t know that Mike will soon mount a roof and train his sniper rifle on the Reverend’s head. Based on the startling true story of Mike’s renunciation of the Klan ( and the resulting tussle for ownership of the museum), Andrew Heckler’s film debut is often preachy and overripe with white-power symbolism. Yet its mood of airless bigotry is quite effective, portraying the Klan’s influence with officials and the police as an ingrained stain on the fabric of the town. When Mike falls for Judy (Andrea Riseborough, all hair and gumption), a scrawny single mother who’s not at all down with racism, he’s forced to choose between his woman and the only family he has ever known. Though the themes of “Burden” feel uncomfortably current, their execution is leaden and dismayingly artless. Wrapped in Jeremy Rouse’s dusty-soft cinematography, Mike’s reluctant journey to redemption is unpersuasive, his personality only semi-formed and his behavior a tangle of contradictions. Scenes with his surrogate father and Klan leader (Tom Wilkinson, casually monstrous) have a naturalness that’s lacking in his interactions with the preacher, whose near-saintly generosity seems almost sacrificial. And then there’s Hedlund’s distractingly odd performance, one that pushes his character from inarticulate to the precipice of slow-witted. Feet shuffling and head rocking back and forth in a self-soothing arc, Burden approaches virtually every situation with such obvious discomfort he’s like a once-whipped, twice-shy dog. This is a man who only seems fully alive when fists connect with flesh, a brute whose baptism scene feels like a triumph, but whose absolution feels a long way away. Burden Rated R for flying fists and filthy tongues. Running time: 1 hour 57 minutes.
Been waiting for this. Love me some burden.
